Guys -I’ve had the best week ever! It’s only Wednesday but it’s been a REALLY GOOD WEEK. Best week ever may be an exaturation but none the less its been a darn good week.
My week started with one of my bravo dreams coming true. I went to a recording of Watch What Happens Live and it was everything I wanted and more. Being in the same room as Andy Cohen gave me LIFE.
If you have been following my Instagram stories I am so sure you are tired of hearing about my Watch What Happens Live experience but it was SO AMAZING. The only down side to the experience was it was a celebrity night and not a housewife wife so there was not one second of Bravo talk, Boo!
So, I started my week with Andy Cohen and I am ending my week wine tasting in the central coast of California. Hello, Bravo and wine, BEST WEEK EVER!
In prep for my weekend of wine tasting on the central coast, I had to buy a few new outfits, right? and lucky for me, it’s my favorite time of year when retailers have the BEST SALES. January is the month that retailers deeply discount all of their inventory to deplete the Christmas stock and prepare for summer shipments. Moral of the story: shop more in January.
Best Of American Eagle Sale
Traditionally, I don’t shop at American Eagle. If I am going to be real honest I feel like I have aged out of the store. But one of my favorite bloggers posted about an amazing American Eagle sale and it sparked my interest. I immediately went to American Eagle’s website and was shocked by the adorable sweaters and super affordable booties.
All of the American Eagle pieces I purchased are under $40! Yes, that includes my faux leather jacket and those booties at the bottom, too! Deals, deals, deals!
If you wanted to see more of these American Eagle pieces, I posted a try on session on my Instagram story highlights. I’ve been shopping a lot this month, so I’ve shared tons of fun try on sessions on Instagram.
Pantone’s Color of the year, an announcement that makes me so excited every year. Do I agree with the color selection every year? No way. But this year I am so excited about the selection, Living Coral is the perfect color to welcome 2019 with.
Okay, now I am going to be very honest about Pantone’s color of the year selection; while I think the color is beautiful I don’t traditionally think this color is beautiful on my fair skin. As a result, I really had to dig deep to find pieces that I am excited to incorporate into my wardrobe.
I have spent my entire professional career in the B2B marketing space so I know the importance of perfectly matching the Pantone shade but in this situation that was not a priority to me. Most of my selections are not exact matches for the Living Coral shade and yet I am so excited for all of these pieces.
In my new hometown of Palm Springs, bright, vibrant colors are overly loved and embraced. But as you can tell by my Instagram, my normal wardrobe consists of black clothing and lots of neutrals so this new year I am trying to mix it up. In 2019 a goal of mine is to introduce more color into my wardrobe and Pantone’s color of the year is the perfect place to start.
My all-time favorite Pantone selection was the 2016 color, that beautiful rose quartz. Pantone then followed that up with, in my opinion, the worst selection ever the 2017 color “greenery”, nope, not for me.
I hope you love these coral finds as much as I do! Are you a fan of Living Coral? What other products would you like to see in this shade?
Earlier this year, I started doing a monthly Amazon fashion haul and it has been such a hit! I search Amazon up and down and purchase about 10 pieces of the best quality, affordable pieces from Amazon. Well, my December Amazon haul might have been my favorite haul thus far. This order has brought my favorite new winter fashion staples.
Can searching for fashion on Amazon be a chore? Yes, you must search and search some more but Amazon has some really cute items! I am able to find the exact pieces all the popular online boutiques have but on Amazon. The best part is, these pieces are much more affordable on Amazon.
The theme of the December Amazon haul is “cute outfits for a fun night out with your friends from high school”. Who doesn’t want to look their best when they run into the cute boy you sat behind in geometry? During the holiday season, there are always so many casual meet-ups and a new, cute outfit is exactly what is needed for those nights out.
A new season is upon us, time for new fashion trends, right? Well, at least I think so. I am not a fashion trend forecasting expert but I love to find the cutest trends for every season and translate those trends into outfits for the everyday girl.
A few of these winter trends are continuations from fall but I am beyond excited they are following us to winter because a world without animal print is a world I’m not ready for. If you read my fall trends post then you know I have been excited about pleats, leopard print and leather for a while and I am ecstatic that these trends are following us to winter.
I recently posted on Instagram my own take on these winter trends. This winter white chenille sweater and velvet shoes will be on repeat all winter long. who knew velvet sneakers were a thing? I didn’t and I don’t know how I lived without them.
When searching online I could not find a list of winter trends that was targeted at someone like myself. All of the trend posts that I read were for high fashion, big budget ladies and well that just is not me. In an effort to stay true to my roots, this post is for all of those ladies out there whose Saturday nights might be spent at a local dive bar and their clothing budgets are much more conservative.
Because of where I live (Hello, beautiful Palm Springs) I do not get to wear traditional winter clothes on the daily but the good thing about my list is all of these trends have an option that is appropriate for us ladies who live in a more mild climate. If I am going to be completely honest, I am not a big fan of the cold. I love to visit the cold for a weekend and then rush back to my warm, sunny home.
