This summer has been a unique one for me, its the first summer since I was in college that I haven’t spent my entire summer working in an office. The flexibility of working from home is nice and allows for a lot more time outdoors! Its also allowed me to visit some of the most beautiful bodies of waters, I never in a million years thought I would get a summer like this one. In fact, if you are following me on Instagram, you saw I spent this last weekend at my favorite place on earth, Smith Lake, just north of Birmingham, Alabama.
We all want to live every day of our life with tan, moisturized skin and soft, shiny hair but with lots of time in bodies of waters mixed with extreme heat, that dream can be very difficult to achieve.

All my summer activities and vacations revolve around being outside; I love to swim in our pool, lay by the beach, hang out on the lake, if its outdoors in the summer, I probably love it. I love summer but all this time outdoors really wreak havoc on my skin and hair. I have to take extra steps and precautions that I never took before to keep my skin glowing and my hair manageable. I have also invested in new products that I never thought I would purchase.
Now let’s talk about a few of my favorite beauty products that are getting me through the summer.

This product changes the summer make up game. Its super light on its own or you can pair it with a powder highlighter for a more dramatic look. On days when you are sitting by the pool and just want a light makeup, this is the best product. It gives you a very highlighted but dewy look and can be work just directly on your face or on top of a full coverage foundation.
Aveeno Positively Radiant 60 Second In-Shower Facial

On top of my intense moisturization routine, I started adding this to my weekly routine and it has really helped my summer skin. The steam from the shower helps this product penetrate your delicate facial skin and leaves my sensitive skin soft and glowing.
Coppertone Kids Tear Free Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50

Okay so let’s be real, I have one million sunscreens but I constantly end up just using the kid’s sunscreen. No matter what precautions I take I always end in tears with sunscreen in my eyes. Its terrible, miserable, I hate it. While I like to use my sensitive facial sunscreens, in reality, I usually just slather this all over my body.

The truth is I hate shoes. I am always barefoot in the summer but that ends up destroying the skin on my feet and ruins brand new pedicured feet. This product is the only thing that seems to fix my cracked heels. Usually, this is $25, but I found it on Haute Look for $10!! What a steal!
Bumble and bumble Bb. Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Conditioner

I spent the last 10 years bleaching my hair, completely destroying my very thin, fine hair. I stopped dying my hair about 10 months ago but am still working hard to restore my hair to a healthy state. Let me tell you, swimming in our chlorinated swimming pool is not helping the state of my hair. This oil is everything, it’s so light and hydrating; I didn’t think that combination was possible in hair products but this is the holy grail of moisturization.
What are some summer beauty products you can’t live without? I am constantly searching for new products to keep my skin soft and supple, so help me out on my hunt!
Happy Summer!
