Spring Break Outfits: Wardrobe & Packing List Must-Haves

Spring Break Outfits: Wardrobe & Packing List Must-Haves

It’s no secret that I am long past the age of Spring Break but that doesn’t stop me from regularly skimming the internet putting together spring break outfits and daydreaming about exotic vacation. Growing up, Spring Break meant to me that it was the first time we were taking the boat out for the year and then when college rolled around, I got myself into a fair amount of trouble in warm cities. Needless to say, I’ve always loved Spring Break.

While I have no official Spring Vacation planned, I am still very excited about warmer weather and cute spring fashion trends.

Spring Vacation Outfits

Luckily, I do not have to travel far for warm, spring break weather. My hometown, Palm Springs, is a town of endless sunshine and a very popular spring break destination. So I am just going to pretend that I am packing for a week-long staycation in Palm Springs. Below are the items I would be packing for my adult spring break.

Matching Sets

This is my absolute favorite spring fashion trend, its so easy and looks so put together!

High Rise Jeans

My #1 closet staple, a must in every suitcase I pack.

Fun Statement Earrings

Nothing spruces up an outfit more than a pair of bold, bright earrings.

Tie Front Tops

I absolute love a tie front top with a high rise jean, so cute!

Block Heels

I love a block heel! So comfortable but still nicely dress up an outfit.

Versatile Dresses

Dresses that can be worn to the pool and then dressed up for dinner are a must.

Hair Scarves

After a long day of being in the pool the last thing you want to do is worry about washing and styling your hair, add a cute little scarf to a ponytail and you are good to go!

Tons Of Fun Swimsuits

Because you can’t go on Spring Break without a few new, fun swimsuits!

Straw Purse

Add a straw purse to your outfit and instantly you are on vacation.

Sunglasses

Bust out all of the fun sunglasses, I mean it is Spring Break after all.

Tell me where you are going on your spring break! I would love to vicarously live through you!

Winter Fashion Trends That I Am So Excited About

Winter Fashion Trends That I Am So Excited About

A new season is upon us, time for new fashion trends, right? Well, at least I think so. I am not a fashion trend forecasting expert but I love to find the cutest trends for every season and translate those trends into outfits for the everyday girl.

A few of these winter trends are continuations from fall but I am beyond excited they are following us to winter because a world without animal print is a world I’m not ready for. If you read my fall trends post then you know I have been excited about pleats, leopard print and leather for a while and I am ecstatic that these trends are following us to winter.

IMG-0541

I recently posted on Instagram my own take on these winter trends. This winter white chenille sweater and velvet shoes will be on repeat all winter long. who knew velvet sneakers were a thing? I didn’t and I don’t know how I lived without them.

When searching online I could not find a list of winter trends that was targeted at someone like myself. All of the trend posts that I read were for high fashion, big budget ladies and well that just is not me. In an effort to stay true to my roots, this post is for all of those ladies out there whose Saturday nights might be spent at a local dive bar and their clothing budgets are much more conservative.

Because of where I live (Hello, beautiful Palm Springs) I do not get to wear traditional winter clothes on the daily but the good thing about my list is all of these trends have an option that is appropriate for us ladies who live in a more mild climate. If I am going to be completely honest, I am not a big fan of the cold. I love to visit the cold for a weekend and then rush back to my warm, sunny home.

November Amazon Fashion Haul: Sweaters Under $35

November Amazon Fashion Haul: Sweaters Under $35

New month, new sweaters. That’s a thing right?

Okay, if you have been reading my blog for a while you know one thing, I love Amazon. LOVE LOVE LOVE. It’s just a convenience that I don’t feel like I get from any other website. Whether you are looking for a full sweater outfit or pumpkin-shaped cats toys, it’s all there.

Not only do I love Amazon for their convenience, but I also love their reliability. Two-day shipping on all prime orders, unheard of from other retailers. Now that we live in California sometimes I even get my orders in one day, it’s crazy.

Two weeks ago I placed a huge order of dresses for a wedding we will be attending this weekend. I frequently shop at this retailer’s brick and mortar but never shop on their website.  The website said the package would arrive in 5 business days but here we are on day 10 and still no package of dresses. You know what company I would never run into that issue with? Amazon.

In prep for cooler temps, I went a bit crazy on new sweaters. I really don’t need new sweaters because 1. I live in Palm Springs and 2. I have a whole closet full but I just lovveeee new, cute clothes. Turns out, I have a shopping problem. Oops.

I did a full try on of all of these sweaters on my Instagram last week and it was the biggest response that I ever got to my stories so you can expect a lot more try ons in my stories. If you have a question what any of these sweaters would look like on a real person, head to the story highlights on my Instagram and its all saved there.

NOTE: The green sweater is marketed as a sweater dress but unless you are a child or under 5 foot then it is NOT A DRESS.

Now let’s get to the sweaters.

All of these sweaters are under $35 and available on Amazon Prime. All images below are shoppable.

Things To Buy On Amazon: Long Sweaters

Things To Buy On Amazon: Long Sweaters

When I started blogging about fashion one thing was VERY important to me, I wanted everything I blogged about to be affordable to everyone. I am a very proud bargain shopper and love to share my attainable fashion finds with all readers or really anyone who will listen.

I am able to find affordable pieces everywhere! My mom taught me never to buy anything at full price and I think I do an EXCELLENT job at sticking to that rule. I shop everywhere but my absolute favorite places for new clothing pieces are Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx and Amazon. Amazon is quickly becoming my number one source for my wardrobe but its just so easy!!

Recently, I was home alone, bored by myself on a Saturday night so of course, what did I do, ONLINE SHOP! Within 10 minutes of searching the web, I did some damage, remember when I said Amazon was easy? I wasn’t kidding. I have been obsessing over long, fun sweaters so when I jumped on Amazon I knew exactly what I was looking for.

I strictly live by the policy that if something isn’t comfortable, I’m not wearing it. I hope my blog reflects that policy because in real life I am VERY serious about it. These three sweaters I am about to show you are just that COMFORTABLE!

Okay now, let’s get to this amazing Amazon haul. Yall are going to LOVE these sweaters!

Rainbow Sweater

I realize that most people don’t see this loud rainbow cardigan as a fall staple but I am not most people. I love rainbow stripes. LOVE!!!! This cardigan really brightens up an all black or neutral outfit.

Olive Green Cardigan

Everyone once in a while you need a dark colored sweater that isn’t black. This fall I have been obsessing over olive green, it’s not a normal color in my wardrobe but I can’t stop buying items of this color.

Leopard Print Cardigan

We all know leopard print is all the rage this fall so I really have been on the lookout for the perfect, affordable long leopard cardigan. I have found tons but none were in a price range I was willing to pay and then I found this beauty! It’s perfect! Comfortable, cute, affordable, a real must purchase item.

Do y’all love these sweaters as much as I do? I sure hope you do because I was blown away at the quality and price point of these three perfect fall sweaters.

A Week In Colombia: What I Wore

A Week In Colombia: What I Wore

We just returned home from a week in Medellin, Colombia, its such a beautiful, unique city with beautiful shades of green and delicious coffee. Medellin weather is amazing, its known for its spring-like temperatures year round and with the exception of one cool morning, the entire trip was 75 degrees of perfection.

I learned so much from my trip to Medellin so I am working on a fun travel guide for Americans traveling to the city. A year ago, I never would have thought that I would travel to Colombia because I thought it was a violent, scary place. I was so wrong! It’s such a beautiful country with nice, welcoming individuals who are very proud of their country.

In true Heather fashion, I wanted to pack light. I only took a carry on for my 6-day trip so I had to pack items that were versatile and I could re-wear. Luckily my wardrobe is FULL of black, black pieces are so versatile and mix well with almost every other color.

I really don’t need new summer or spring clothes like, at all! but the day before the trip I made a stop in Target and bought several new things that I excitedly packed for Colombia. All over Instagram, I see women talking about their affinity for Target clothing. (Also, if you aren’t following me on Instagram, why don’t you head that way and follow me?)  To be honest, I am traditionally not the biggest fan of  Target clothes but they have new lines of clothing that are super cute and actually really nice quality.

Every piece I took on the trip was under $50 because you know this girl loves a deal!

Now let’s talk about some clothes!

Outfit 1: A Day In The Park

Medellin is covered in these big, gorgeous, luscious parks, such beautiful outdoor space.

Outfit 2: Exploring The Hotel Grounds

We stayed one night in a sprawling hotel in Rionegro, right near the airport. The grounds were beautiful and covered with Peacocks.

Outfit 4: Another Day, A Different Park

I love a graphic tee, I think they are so cute and look great with jeans or skirts. My favorite graphic tee is this old one from Abercrombie years ago. Unfortunately, its no longer available so I put a list together of my favorite graphic tees under $25.

Outfit 5: A Night Out On The Town

I was going through my pictures today and realized that I was so concerned with getting outfit pictures that I only got one picture with my husband in it, oops! I had such a great time in Medellin, I can’t wait to perfect my Spanish so I won’t be so embarrassing next time I visit South America.

Happy Weekend!
