Guys, its May. How did that happen? I am not going to annoy you with a really awesome ‘Nsync lyric but just know that I am thinking it! Not only did April bring us showers but it also brought us some really awesome warm-weather fashion.

A new month means that I get to share the most popular items from the previous month. If you are curious about how I determine the most popular items every month, it is a combination of the most popular items on Instagram, the liketoknow.it app and my blog.

April on Hat On The Map was all about Spring / Summer fashion, specifically super cute pieces to take on vacation. In fact, the most shopped item was definitely swimsuits! I have no fun beach vacations planned for this month, but boy did I shop as I did. Our swimming pool is going to see me in some cute swimsuits, that’s for sure!

It’s no surprise to me that once again the most popular retailer on Hat On The Map was Amazon. 7 out of 10 of my most popular items are from Amazon, I mean I get it, it’s honestly the best! I do a ton of Amazon stuff because everyone seems to love it but what other retailers would you guys like to see? Please leave a comment below, email me or DM me on Instagram and let me know!!

One more really awesome thing about my most popular April items is everything is under $50!! It appears that everyone really does love a deal!

Now let’s get to the most popular items on Hat On The Map from April.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation: Turns out that you guys love this Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Dupe as much as I do.

Off The Shoulder Bikini: This bikini is the cutest, I can imagine it now, sitting on a white beach, with a drink in my hand wearing this cute little bikini.

High Rise Jean Shorts: I will be living in these shorts all summer long, they are so comfortable and fit perfect!

Tie Front One Piece Swimsuit: I loveeeeee a swimsuit with no straps because who wants tan lines, you know?!

White Nikes: The perfect white sneaker for spring! Because a cute sandal does not fit every occasion.

Cut Out One Piece Swimsuit: I love Cupshe! Here’s a shopping secret; almost all of Cupshe’s inventory is available Amazon Prime, a much easier way to shop this awesome retailer.

High Waisted Bikini: I am the number one fan of this high waisted bikini trend, gimme all the flattering bikinis!

Ankle Strap Espadrille Wedge: I can’t stop talking/wearing these! Hello, cutest wedges EVER!!! I’ve seen wedges identical to these for up to $200!

Short Sleeve Dress : A lightweight dress is always the best bet for a warm summer day!

Oversized Square Sunglasses (Celine Dupe): Quality, cute and stylish sunglasses for under $15?! yes, please!!

Okay, I need to know, now that it’s May, what are you shopping for this month? I am on the lookout for all of the cute tops for warm Palm Springs days. Happy May flowers to all of you!!!

Shoes for Spring: The Best of White Sneakers

Shoes for Spring: The Best of White Sneakers

The flowers have bloomed, the temperatures have risen, it is officially spring! I love spring and I especially love the cute new fashion that comes along with spring. This spring I am all heart eyes for all the sneakers, I love them. Specifically white sneakers. They are casual, comfortable and look great with shorts, jeans, or dresses.

When most people think of new spring shoes they normally think of sandals or open toe heels but there are plenty of occasions where a tennis shoe is most appropriate. Like if you are exploring a new city and plan on walking all day, a sneaker is the best option or if you are attending a festival in the middle of the desert, a sneaker is absolutely the best option!

White Sneakers
Shoes For Spring

I just realized that I use the words sneaker/ tennis shoe interchangeably. Am I the only one who does this? There are tons of words that I picked up from my time in the south that I did not use growing up in California, and I think sneaker might be one of those words.

Now that I live in Palm Springs, tennis shoe season is year round. The seasons in Palm Springs look like this: sweater weather, windy but warm, so hot you can’t go outside and absolutely perfect. Those are the four seasons. The good news is cute little white sneakers are perfect for all four of those seasons.

Okay, let’s get to my absolute favorite white sneakers

People are turned off by white sneakers because they get dirty much faster than their colored counterparts. When I purchase white sneakers, I immediately scotch guard the shoes and this little trick keeps white shoes clean and crisp for a very long time. If you have any secrets to keeping your white tennis shoes clean and white for a long time, I would love to hear them!

Spring Break Outfits: Wardrobe & Packing List Must-Haves

Spring Break Outfits: Wardrobe & Packing List Must-Haves

It’s no secret that I am long past the age of Spring Break but that doesn’t stop me from regularly skimming the internet putting together spring break outfits and daydreaming about exotic vacation. Growing up, Spring Break meant to me that it was the first time we were taking the boat out for the year and then when college rolled around, I got myself into a fair amount of trouble in warm cities. Needless to say, I’ve always loved Spring Break.

While I have no official Spring Vacation planned, I am still very excited about warmer weather and cute spring fashion trends.

Spring Vacation Outfits

Luckily, I do not have to travel far for warm, spring break weather. My hometown, Palm Springs, is a town of endless sunshine and a very popular spring break destination. So I am just going to pretend that I am packing for a week-long staycation in Palm Springs. Below are the items I would be packing for my adult spring break.

Matching Sets

This is my absolute favorite spring fashion trend, its so easy and looks so put together!

High Rise Jeans

My #1 closet staple, a must in every suitcase I pack.

Fun Statement Earrings

Nothing spruces up an outfit more than a pair of bold, bright earrings.

Tie Front Tops

I absolute love a tie front top with a high rise jean, so cute!

Block Heels

I love a block heel! So comfortable but still nicely dress up an outfit.

Versatile Dresses

Dresses that can be worn to the pool and then dressed up for dinner are a must.

Hair Scarves

After a long day of being in the pool the last thing you want to do is worry about washing and styling your hair, add a cute little scarf to a ponytail and you are good to go!

Tons Of Fun Swimsuits

Because you can’t go on Spring Break without a few new, fun swimsuits!

Straw Purse

Add a straw purse to your outfit and instantly you are on vacation.

Sunglasses

Bust out all of the fun sunglasses, I mean it is Spring Break after all.

Tell me where you are going on your spring break! I would love to vicarously live through you!

Winter Fashion Trends That I Am So Excited About

Winter Fashion Trends That I Am So Excited About

A new season is upon us, time for new fashion trends, right? Well, at least I think so. I am not a fashion trend forecasting expert but I love to find the cutest trends for every season and translate those trends into outfits for the everyday girl.

A few of these winter trends are continuations from fall but I am beyond excited they are following us to winter because a world without animal print is a world I’m not ready for. If you read my fall trends post then you know I have been excited about pleats, leopard print and leather for a while and I am ecstatic that these trends are following us to winter.

IMG-0541

I recently posted on Instagram my own take on these winter trends. This winter white chenille sweater and velvet shoes will be on repeat all winter long. who knew velvet sneakers were a thing? I didn’t and I don’t know how I lived without them.

When searching online I could not find a list of winter trends that was targeted at someone like myself. All of the trend posts that I read were for high fashion, big budget ladies and well that just is not me. In an effort to stay true to my roots, this post is for all of those ladies out there whose Saturday nights might be spent at a local dive bar and their clothing budgets are much more conservative.

Because of where I live (Hello, beautiful Palm Springs) I do not get to wear traditional winter clothes on the daily but the good thing about my list is all of these trends have an option that is appropriate for us ladies who live in a more mild climate. If I am going to be completely honest, I am not a big fan of the cold. I love to visit the cold for a weekend and then rush back to my warm, sunny home.
