Spring Break Outfits: Wardrobe & Packing List Must-Haves

Spring Break Outfits: Wardrobe & Packing List Must-Haves

It’s no secret that I am long past the age of Spring Break but that doesn’t stop me from regularly skimming the internet putting together spring break outfits and daydreaming about exotic vacation. Growing up, Spring Break meant to me that it was the first time we were taking the boat out for the year and then when college rolled around, I got myself into a fair amount of trouble in warm cities. Needless to say, I’ve always loved Spring Break.

While I have no official Spring Vacation planned, I am still very excited about warmer weather and cute spring fashion trends.

Spring Vacation Outfits

Luckily, I do not have to travel far for warm, spring break weather. My hometown, Palm Springs, is a town of endless sunshine and a very popular spring break destination. So I am just going to pretend that I am packing for a week-long staycation in Palm Springs. Below are the items I would be packing for my adult spring break.

Matching Sets

This is my absolute favorite spring fashion trend, its so easy and looks so put together!

High Rise Jeans

My #1 closet staple, a must in every suitcase I pack.

Fun Statement Earrings

Nothing spruces up an outfit more than a pair of bold, bright earrings.

Tie Front Tops

I absolute love a tie front top with a high rise jean, so cute!

Block Heels

I love a block heel! So comfortable but still nicely dress up an outfit.

Versatile Dresses

Dresses that can be worn to the pool and then dressed up for dinner are a must.

Hair Scarves

After a long day of being in the pool the last thing you want to do is worry about washing and styling your hair, add a cute little scarf to a ponytail and you are good to go!

Tons Of Fun Swimsuits

Because you can’t go on Spring Break without a few new, fun swimsuits!

Straw Purse

Add a straw purse to your outfit and instantly you are on vacation.

Sunglasses

Bust out all of the fun sunglasses, I mean it is Spring Break after all.

Tell me where you are going on your spring break! I would love to vicarously live through you!

Amazon Spring Fashion Haul

Amazon Spring Fashion Haul

The other day I had this great idea to do a Palm Springs inspired Amazon spring fashion haul, when the order came in all I wanted to do was take my fashion finds and go on an exotic vacation to a tropical island. So think of this haul less as Palm Springs and more Hawaiian spring break.

Spring Outfits 2019

I was on the search for fun colors, bold prints and lightweight material and ended up with some great pieces. Amazon can be a tricky place for clothes shopping but over the past year I have really gained a great understanding of how to find the best items on Amazon. For additional Amazon shopping tips, I blogged about it here.

I posted a try-on session on my Instagram Stories with most of these items, so if you are interested in more a more detailed look at any of the below items you will find those specifics there.

Spring Swimsuits

Okay now lets get to the most imprtant part of this post, Swimsuits! I have so many swimsuits! I am kind of a swimsuit hoarder. During the cooler months, my husband and I get in the jaquzzi 2 – 3 times a week and in the summer we are in our pool about 5 – 6 times a week. We are water people!

High waisted swimsuits and One Piece Swimsuits are really trending this year and I am so excited about that! I love one piece swimsuits, I am one of those people who love to be active in the water and need something that I feel will keep me covered at all costs.

I really need to take myself on a grown up spring break. If you are going on an exciting spring vacation, please tell me about it below.

The Best High Rise Jeans

The Best High Rise Jeans

In 2018, I experienced lots of big life changes, one of the biggest changes has been going from working in an office every day to working from home. I’ve since moved all of my cute pencil skirts and button-down shirts to the back of the closet and now have a very, very casual work wardrobe. If I wanted to walk around all day in pajamas, I could, but I really don’t enjoy looking like a hot mess all day every day. In an effort to not look like a slob every day, I always make sure that I slip into a good pair of jeans while I am working from home.

A few years ago I discovered high waisted jeans and I have not looked back. High waisted jeans are my JAM! Seriously, what’s not to love? They suck you in where you need it and create the illusion of longer legs. I have a very long torso and short legs so high waisted jeans are everything I need.

Not only do I find high waisted jeans flattering but they stay in place and I never have to worry about bending over. Feeling appropriate in low rise jeans can be quite the obstacle.

Blue Jean Baby, LA Lady

The first pair of high waisted jeans that I purchased were the Levi’s 721, a great introductory pair. They are comfortable, affordable and just the right amount of stretch.

I am not much of a designer girl so, for the most part, all of my listed jeans are nondesigner. Recently, I rediscovered Abercrombie jeans and they are EVERYTHING. I went to high school in the mid-2000’s so shopping at Abercrombie and Fitch was a must! In the years following high school I parted ways with Abercrombie, it wasn’t until recently that I purchased a pair of their high rise jeans and fell madly in love with their denim.

I seriously live in high rise skinny jeans, I am a big fan of a good dark wash but really love a moderately distressed jean. With all of this high rise jean wearing I’ve become quite the connoisseur, so today I am sharing the best high waisted skinny jeans.

I’ve read that high rise jeans will no longer be the popular style in the next few years but I promise my closet will be filled with high waisted jeans forever.

Valentine’s Day Outfit’s For The Homebody

I am going to be honest, I am not one of those girls that enjoys getting dressed up and going out for Valentine’s Day. I find all the restaurants overcrowded, overpriced, and it’s just not my thing. With all of that being said, I am still a huge fan of Valentine’s Day! HUGE! I love any day where you get to wear pink and hearts and glitter and eat lots of chocolate!

Romantic love always takes the spotlight of Valentine’s Day but I think it’s a great time to celebrate all of the love in your life. My friends and I always do a big Galentine’s Day sleepover and it is my all time favorite tradition. Do y’all celebrate Valentine’s Day with your best friends or your parents, or siblings? I really love the idea of celebrating all the love in my life on Valentine’s Day.

Red Sweater

This year for Valentine’s Day my husband and I will be at home celebrating the holiday with our sweet angel cats. My idea of a perfect Valentine’s Night is a steak dinner, a big glass of spicy red wine (if you think spicy is a weird word to describe wine then I have some wine that I need to introduce you to) and ending the evening by playing dominos while watching a movie. Oh maybe even a big dessert, yes, that sounds like the perfect evening.

Since I won’t be putting on a fancy dress and celebrating Valentine’s Day that way, I have rounded up all of my favorite Valentine’s Day clothes that will for sure get you excited to celebrate all things love at home!

What does your perfect Valentine’s Day look like? Are you like me and love a night in or would you much rather have a nice night out?

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Pantone’s Color Of The Year: Living Coral.

Pantone’s Color of the year, an announcement that makes me so excited every year. Do I agree with the color selection every year? No way. But this year I am so excited about the selection, Living Coral is the perfect color to welcome 2019 with.

Okay, now I am going to be very honest about Pantone’s color of the year selection; while I think the color is beautiful I don’t traditionally think this color is beautiful on my fair skin. As a result, I really had to dig deep to find pieces that I am excited to incorporate into my wardrobe.

Must Have Living Coral Pieces

Pantone Color Of The Year
  1. Mac Coral Lipstick $18
  2. Splendid Sweatshirt $65
  3. Double Breasted Coat $51
  4. Tunic Sweater $45
  5. Heeled Sandal $35
  6. Bobbi Brown Blush $32
  7. Cover Up Maxi Dress $68
  8. New Balance Running Shoe $40
  9. Coral Nail Polish $12
  10. Sandal Mules $58

I have spent my entire professional career in the B2B marketing space so I know the importance of perfectly matching the Pantone shade but in this situation that was not a priority to me. Most of my selections are not exact matches for the Living Coral shade and yet I am so excited for all of these pieces.

In my new hometown of Palm Springs, bright, vibrant colors are overly loved and embraced. But as you can tell by my Instagram, my normal wardrobe consists of black clothing and lots of neutrals so this new year I am trying to mix it up. In 2019 a goal of mine is to introduce more color into my wardrobe and Pantone’s color of the year is the perfect place to start.

My all-time favorite Pantone selection was the 2016 color, that beautiful rose quartz. Pantone then followed that up with, in my opinion, the worst selection ever the 2017 color “greenery”, nope, not for me.

I hope you love these coral finds as much as I do! Are you a fan of Living Coral? What other products would you like to see in this shade?
