This weekend was a unique one for us, it was the first weekend in a very long time that my husband had to work through the weekend. He’s a geologist so a working weekend is a real rarity. While I wish he was home and we were able to go do something fun it was a nice opportunity to catch up on all of my trash TV, Reality TV. I fancy myself a reality TV expert, I love it, all of it.
Since I was a kid watching The Real World, I have always loved reality TV. In fact, the first paper I wrote in college was about the history of reality TV. While I love it all there is a few reality TV shows that I am so excited for every week and here they are.
90 Day Fiance
What a gem!! I’m so thankful for the wonderful people at TLC for greenlighting this show. If you have not yet seen, this show follows an American and their foreign partner as they come to America through the K1 Visa. This show is on every Sunday night and needs to be watched. This weekend I did a Q & A with my husband on Instagram during the show and it was so funny! I honestly think this is the best show on TV! Yup, I said it.
Teen Mom 2
I’m going to be so honest, I wish I didn’t love this show. It has turned into such a trashy show that and the show now has very little to do with being an actual mom and more to do with inflated egos. There was an episode this season that still has me shook, after a road rage issue Jenelle followed a man to his home where she proceeded to pull her gun on him, all while her 9-year-old son is in the front seat.
If you loved 16 and Pregnant, TLC has a new show called Unexpected, totally worth a watch, it’s so good!
The Real Housewives Of New York
This season was just one exciting thing after another. Honestly, I wish it was like Big Brother and I could have watched the LuAnn saga every day. I am counting down the hours until the reunion this week. I love all the housewives franchises but this is on a whole different level.
Now that RHONY is coming to an end I am so excited to dive all the way into Real Housewives of Dallas. This season is going to be so good because Leeanne Locken is crazy.
Floribama Shore
This show. I find all of the characters on this show rather annoying and yet I still tune in every single week. This was MTV’s attempt to duplicate the success of Jersey Shore, nothing will EVER be the Jersey Shore but it is a very good attempt.
Okay, for as much as I love Reality TV there is one show I’ve never been able to watch, The Bachelor. I find the characters boring and its such a time commitment but maybe I need to give it a try. Is there one season of The Bachelor that I should watch that will totally get me hooked?
